The Groundsmasters—formerly Owatonna Groundsmasters—was founded in 1984 with a simple goal: deliver dependable, high-quality property care to homeowners and businesses across southern Minnesota. What began as a small local operation has grown over four decades into one of the region's most trusted full-service lawn care, landscaping, and irrigation providers.

The name “Groundsmasters” itself has a story rooted in the early days of the business. The original owners relied on the Toro Groundsmaster mower—a machine known for durability, precision, and professional-grade performance. It quickly became the backbone of their operation, and over time, the name came to represent more than just equipment—it became a standard. A commitment to doing the job right, every time. That same standard still defines who we are today.

From the beginning, our company has been built on hard work, integrity, and a strong connection to the communities we serve. As a veteran-owned business, those values are more than just words—they are embedded in how we operate. Over the past 42+ years, we have had the privilege of serving thousands of residential and commercial properties throughout Owatonna, Faribault, Waseca, Medford, Blooming Prairie, Dodge Center, and surrounding communities.
